The woman referenced is an Asian-American woman currently working in admissions, whom which a lot of students see as the only person of color in admissions. A lot of colleges like to pride themselves on their diversity, and Bryn Mawr is no exception. Diversity makes the College look better in numerous instances. However, a lot of Bryn Mawr students, like the one quoted here, believe that the College is not as diverse as it claims to be. This student suggests that first step Bryn Mawr needs to take is recognizing that they have multiracial students. This could then help students take pride in this aspect of their identity and further steps could be made from there.

This suggestion of the college recognizing multiracial students was said by a multitude of participants. Many said that increasing visibility of multiracial students was essential. Some also said that Bryn Mawr needs to take a more active role in addressing the presence of multiracial people on campus in their discussions about race.
